The Vancouver Whitecaps have completed the signing of Emmanuel Sabbi from French Ligue 1 side Le Havre AC for a reported fee of $1.1 million. The 27-year-old American forward has signed a contract that runs through 2027, with the club holding an option for the 2028 season.
"Emmanuel is an experienced attacking player who has played in one of the best leagues in the world," said Vancouver sporting director Axel Schuster. "He’ll add another dimension to our attack, and he is capable of playing on either wing or up top. We’re excited to welcome Emmanuel to our club."

Sabbi’s arrival in Vancouver marks his first foray into Major League Soccer after spending his professional career in Europe. The versatile attacker, who can play across the front line, brings experience from Denmark’s Superliga and France’s Ligue 1. He signed from Le Havre for whom he made 49 appearances and contributed to six goals and he is eligible to represent both the United States and Ghana, having represented USA at various youth levels.

With the departures of Fafa Picault and Stuart Armstrong, the Vancouver Whitecaps needed to reinforce their squad and the club has done just that. Aside from Sabbi, the MLS side has also brought in Jayden Nelson to join an attack led by midfielder Ryan Gauld and forward Brian White. The Whitecaps kick off their 2025 MLS season against the Portland Timbers on Feb. 23 before hosting LA Galaxy at BC Place.
