A Dutch journalist has claimed Erik ten Hag wanted Manchester United to part with £34 million ($46m) for out-of-form Ajax striker Brian Brobbey.

Dutch journalist Vlaentijn Driessen made the comments to . Ten Hag was known to be a huge fan of Brobbey, who was valued at €40m (£34m/$46m) by the Dutch giants after scoring 31 goals over the previous two Eredivisie seasons. However, the 23-year-old has only bagged four in the league and eight in total across his 41 appearances in the 2024-25 season.

Brobbey's season kicked off in an inauspicious fashion, as the Dutch international didn't score until November. His lack of returns this term have seen his value dip, with Driessen suggesting Ajax would struggle to fetch more than €10m in the transfer market.
