The club leaders have not yet been able to unanimously agree on their preferred candidate to replace Leroy Sane heading into the summer transfer window, according to . Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain is said to be the most popular target within the club, with the 22-year-old highly regarded by sporting director Max Eberl. However, a move for the Frenchman may be out of their reach as PSG say he is not for sale.
If Bayern fail to make progress with Barcola, they will have to turn their attention to one of the two other stars on their list. One of those is Nico Williams, but the Athletic Club star seems set on joining Barcelona instead, while his salary demands may be excessive for the Bundesliga champions.

AC Milan star Leao is the remaining attacker on their radar, but there are still concerns about the Portuguese player. Eberl is said to have already spoken to him on the phone, and the report adds that there was a secret meeting between Bayern and Leao's advisors in Munich at the end of May. However, the 26-year-old is said to be causing some doubts among Bayern officials, mainly due to his occasional lack of defensive work. This is especially true given that he was not always a regular starter for Milan last season and recently only came off the bench in Portugal's Nations League triumph.
Nevertheless, according to , the Germans want to keep all options open with Leao. They hope that coach Vincent Kompany will be able to convince him of the importance of defensive work.
