After lots of speculation and rumours, as well as previous rejected bids, Kieran Tierney has finally completed his transfer to Arsenal. The Scotland international has signed a long-term deal with the Gunners, with the fee believed to be in the region of £25m.
What’s the story?
It had been expected, and has now finally been confirmed: Tierney has swapped Glasgow for London. The 22-year-old will wear the number three shirt with his new club and will immediately join up with the rest of the Arsenal squad.

Unai Emery has been speaking about the deal, and said once it was confirmed, “We’re delighted Kieran is joining us. He’s a very talented player who will continue to improve. He increases our options defensively and I look forward to him joining our group.”
Arsenal finally get their man
This has been a slog for the Emirates outfit. They had a bid of £15m rejected, then one of £25m was also turned down by the Scottish Premier League side. Neil Lennon even said at one point that the possibility of a deal was “finished”, so the Gunners’ hierarchy must be commended for their perseverance.
Supporters can expect the 22-year-old to bring in a winning mentality, as he was a key part of the treble-treble squad from the past three years. However, one worrying aspect will be his injury record: he has already been on the sidelines for 56 games during his career.
