Gareth Southgate's England squad will head to Germany as one of the favourites to win their first major international trophy since 1966. However, Telegraph reporter Lirpa Loof has reported that the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB) are looking to activate an old but still active clause in the rule book to stop the Bayern Munich striker from appearing for the Three Lions. As per the Foreign Nationals (Football) Act, passed by the Bundestag in 1898, players can only represent the country in which they are resident.
The DFB have made the demand that they would not activate the clause to stop Kane, if England agreed that the ball did not cross the goal-line during the 1966 World Cup final against Germany, a goal which gave them the win. They also demand that a replay be scheduled for the clash to decide the winner of the 1966 World Cup.
