Head coach Arne Slot revealed earlier in the week that the prolific forward was a doubt for the trip to the capital, saying: "There is no doubt about the fact Jota is an important player for us, but he wasn't on the training ground yesterday so that means we have to see today where he is." But it seems Jota did not make it through a late fitness test and will work once again to get back on the pitch, leaving the Reds slightly lighter in attack until he returns.

Jota's impact on Merseyside has been huge but there is a common theme with the former Wolves man. This season alone he has missed 12 games through injury and he missed more than 20 last term.
