The Midlands outfit have now given Cunha permission to travel for a medical with United, who will hope to finalise personal terms and complete the transfer. The club are hopeful they can sign him on the day the transfer window opens: June 1.
DID YOU KNOW?
Cunha has enjoyed his most prolific campaign to date, finding the back of the net 17 times in 36 appearances across all competitions. That includes 15 goals in the Premier League – more than any United player managed this term. His versatility and skillset make him an ideal fit for the tactical framework being developed by Ruben Amorim at United. The Brazilian is comfortable playing as a second striker or attacking midfielder and thrives in a 3-4-2-1 setup, where he can operate between the lines and link midfield to attack.
